Another world under the sea is the archaeological area of Amathus!

This is another world! This is another wonderful world under the sea! This bottom of the sea is home to many unnamed marine plants and animals including turtles, fishes. Not only that, the archeological area of Amathus in Cyprus is witnessing about two and a half thousand years.

Wearing only a swimming mask, anyone can enjoy the diversity of the shallow sea. The country's first archaeological marine park has recently opened on the beach near Limassol, Cyprus. Where tourists flock to see ancient monuments dating back to the Hellenistic period of the 4th century BC.

According to the Department of Archeology of Cyprus, the area was an important harbor during the Archaic period several thousand years ago. The remains of this free range of marine animals, about 30,000 square meters of area, are now opened as a marine park, which is a delight to visitors. Known as an ancient harbor in the Eastern Mediterranean, the archaeological site is expected to become quite popular, especially for those who want to go scuba diving.
At that beach in Limassol, the jetty and the entrance to the port can be seen only after swimming under the water at a depth of several meters. And this is the special aspect of this marine park said swimmers.
The archaeological marine park of Amathus has three dams, the stone dams are made of about 5,000 heavy blocks and have an inner pier and a thick stone cover on the outside.
