Biography of Imam Muslim (RA).
Name and Origin of Imam Muslim:-
His real name is Muslim. His Nickname is Abul Hossain. His titles are Asakiruddin and Imam Muslim. Father's name is Al-Hajjaz. Imam Muslim's full name is Al-Imam Al-Hafez Hujjatul Islam Abul Husain Muslim Ibnul Hujjaj Ibn Muslim Ibn Ward Ibn Qushaz Al Quraishi An Nishapuri. Imam Muslim (RA) was a man of Arab descent (i.e. the tribe of Quraish). Naysabur is the native place of Imam Muslim's (RA) family.
Birth and Childhood of Imam Muslim:-
There is disagreement about the date of birth of Imam Muslim (RA). He was born between 202 Hijri 817 AD and 206 Hijri 821 AD in the famous city of Khorasan in the village of Nishapur. Most historians date his death as 261 Hijri and his age as 55 years. As such, his birth in 206 Hijri is correct and acceptable. Not much is known about the childhood of Imam Muslim. But he was very talented and intelligent from childhood. He was interested in hadith since childhood. He started studying hadith in childhood.
Education of Imam Muslim:
During childhood, primary education is received from the mother and father. Then he enrolled in a school in Nishapur village and started studying Hadith. Besides studying hadith, he also studied Tafseer, history and Islamic subjects. He first sat in the Dars of Hadith in 218 Hijri. When his teacher used to teach hadiths, he would quickly write down the hadiths. When he finished writing, he would review Hadith again with his classmates. As a result, in a short period of time, he was able to gain knowledge of the scriptures of Hadith.
Travel of Imam Muslim:-
All the centers of the Muslim world were famous for the study of Hadith. He visited those centers. He traveled to many countries, especially Mecca, Medina, Baghdad, Kufa, Basra, Khorasan, Egypt, and Syria. Received hadith from the muhaddiths of those places.

Imam Muslim (RA) was able to acquire the knowledge of Hadith in a very short time. Imam Muslim (RA) was a great ocean of hadith knowledge. When Imam Muslim's erudition spread far and wide, learned and knowledge-hungry students from different parts of the world began to take lessons from him. Some notable students are:

Imam Muslim wrote many books. He wrote about 120 books.

5. Kitab Al Jami Ala Al Abwab.
6. Kitab Al Tabaqat.
7. Kitab Al Asma Wal Kuna.
Character and Taqwa of Imam Muslim:
Imam Muslim's parents were pious. From childhood, Imam Muslim liked to live a very simple life. He was not proud. His character was very nice. He never abused anyone. He did not backbite anyone. He did not lie. He feared Allah Ta'ala more and from childhood, he used to do more good deeds.
The career of Imam Muslim:-
He was a businessman. Ibn Imad Hambali said, he had a hotel or inn business in a place called Hims in Nishapur. Abdul Wahab Farra said he used to trade clothes.
Death of Imam Muslim of Imam Muslim:-
Imam Muslim passed away on Sunday evening in the month of Rajab 261 Hijri and was buried at Nashirabad, a suburb of Nishapur. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.
